ABOUT

A group of cycling enthusiasts in Madison, Wisconsin, came together with a common goal: to present a cycling adventure of a lifetime by offering fellow enthusiasts the opportunity to ride the historic climbs of Europe and spend time in the French Pyrenees, and to provide the chance to test skills and determination along side others. This is Cyclesport Travel!

Colin O’Brien

is founder of Cronometro, Inc., ISSIMO DESIGN, LLC, and The Brazen Dropouts Cycling Team with a long history of exploring all facets of the cycling world, designing bicycle frames, wheel systems and various parts and accessories and developing bike fitting methodology. Racing all around the U.S. with enthusiasm since the late 1970′s. He has taught hill climbing seminars for the BCETS group. Participating twice in the Ariegeoise and helping to organize several small group trips to ride in France, Italy and Spain since 2001.

Mark Plane

the recently assigned Event Coordinator of Madison Winter Festival, has designed, organized, and led college-student programs in both Kenya and Tanzania for language training and other summer courses. He has also assisted in planning several cycling trips with friends and family to North Carolina, Spain, France, Italy, Norway, and Germany. He speaks three languages in addition to English.

Dave Supple

is a Physical Education instructor at UW Madison. In addition to teaching ice skating, running and road cycling, he has remained active in the local bike racing scene. Dave has promoted the Wheels on Willy criterium for 18 years and has participated in the Ariegeoise (’06). Assisting in trips to Italy, France, Spain, and North Carolina, he has focused on logistics and map-planning for the groups.

Scott Wente

Scott New Glarus ride

has traveled to France on two different occasions (2005 & 2006), serving as the head mechanic for cycling tours following the Tour de France. Scott has been involved in cycling for over 20 years, beginning with racing, then moving to the retail side. Scott was service manager of one of the largest bike shops in the Midwest and has a wealth of experience with ride support of all types.
