Start of 1 & 2 week trip. Wednesday, June 26th

We will pick you and your gear up at either the Toulouse airport or your hotel airport (some guests like to arrive a day early), and transport you to your cabin in Vicdessos. While you settle in, have a snack, or walk around, we’ll get your bike ready for a ride up one of the climbs out of our lovely valley.

Day 2 Thursday, June 27th

Wake up to a mountain view, which you can enjoy while you have breakfast on your cabin porch. On today’s ride we’ll preview the Ariegeoise Cyclosportive route.

Day 3 Friday, June 28th

Today we do Mark’s favorite road–the Corniche–start from the cabins and finish in the town of Ax les Thermes. Afterwards, we drive to Tarascon to register for the Ariegeoise.

Day 5 Sunday, June 30th

Today we’ll drive to Ax les Thermes and do the beautiful Port de Pailheres Loop.

Day 6 Monday, July 1st

On this, our last full day in Vicdessos, we’ll ride from our cabins to Plateau de Beille!, and back. (Those heading back to the States after the first week, drive to Toulouse).

Day 7 Tuesday, July 2nd

Pack up and head to Arreau where we’ll get in a short and scenic ride in the late afternoon.

Day 8 Wednesday, July 3rd

Wow! This is simply a fantastic route. First up is the Col d’ A’zet, which not only has beautiful views, it is where we’ll watch the Tour. Second is the gorgeous wooded Col d’Ancizan, and we finish through the forest up the Col D’Aspin, and descend it with open views of our valley below.

Day 9 Thursday, July 4th

New route for Cycle Sport; we’ll ride up the back side of the Tourmalet, lunch at the top and hit our top speeds of the trip on the long steep ramps on the way down.

Day 10 Friday, July 5th

Might be a good day off the bike. Other activities will be available.

Day 11 Saturday July 6th

This is a super ride we did for the first time last year and everyone loved it. Beautiful, hard, long with some long flat stretches. From our hotel, Peyresourde, Port de Bales, Peyresourde and home.

Day 12 Sunday, July 7th

Le Tour comes to our backyard; watch the tour pass by on the Col d’Azet

Day 13 Monday, July 8th

Short ride south of Arreau, return and pack up. Staff boxes up bikes and we drive to Toulouse for our last dinner together. Spend night in Toulouse.

Day 14 Tuesday, July 9th

Staff escorts you to the airport and you are on your way back home to the US, with fond memories of riding in the beautiful Pyrenees.
